Normal Conversations of Late (The Instant Messenger Version)
Roxy Normal: there is a super annoying mouse scratching under the cupboards below the sink area
Roxy Normal: that's where you slid in a package of poison.
joe Normal: We should get a cat
joe Normal: rent a cat
joe Normal: or call an exterminator
Roxy Normal: i hate cats more than I hate mice
joe Normal: how much do they cost?
Roxy Normal: mice don't rub up on people's legs
joe Normal: there is no comparison between the two
joe Normal: I prefer cats to disease infested mice
joe Normal: you cant be serious
Roxy Normal: mice don't carry diseases.
Roxy Normal: rats do.
joe Normal: then let's just leave the mice be. the kids will love them
Roxy Normal: I didn't say I like mice. I said I hate cats more than I hate mice.
joe Normal: you pretty much said you like living with mice
Roxy Normal: Not true.

Another One Bites the Dust
Steve walks warily down the street,
With the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet,
Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Are you getting the munchies?

Machine guns ready to go

Happy Thanksgiving
“A lot of people have asked me how the Schrutes enjoy the traditional holiday of ‘Thanksgiving.’ The answer is simple. We do not. Celebrating a holiday that encourages blind appreciation for everything and anything in a person’s life diminishes the rare instances that a person is truly thankful for something, i.e. when that person is pulled from a well they may have fallen into. Giving thanks is also a sign of weakness.”

Young T-Wolves
I'm excited about the up-coming Wolves season. They have a new crop of 3 1/2 ft players straight out of junior high school. Should be good.

They call me "Trinity"
Trinity University (TX) v. Millsaps College. 15 laterals to victory. I was at the game.
Actually, I wasn't. But I'm a huge Trinity fan.
OK, I've never heard of them, but I did see "They Call Me Trinity" (20 years ago).
Click here for a tribute to the spaghetti western cult classic.

Myanmar (Burma)

History repeating itself, or prophecy from an 80's & 90's Australian rock band?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will the sons of Solidarity, Still march on May Day?
Will the sisters of the seventies, Still fight for equal pay?
There's no-one on the Reeperbahn, No more blankets handed out for land.
We feed an economy, It's got blood on it's hands!

Mountains of Burma! The road to Mandalay...
Mountains of Burma! Light years away...
In the mountains of Burma! The road to Mandalay...
In the mountains of Burma! Hope you're light years away...
-
Pack your (pack your) bags full of guns and ammunition...
Bills fall (bills fall) due for the industrial revolution...
Scorch the (scorch the) earth till the earth surrenders.
-
Soldiers of armies, Storm empty fields,
In a traveller's trance, On the way to the high frontier,
Sleepwalkers stumble! Cable cars run aground!
Imaginary enemies, Form high above the clouds!

In the Mountains of Burma...

How you uh, how you comin' on that novel you're working on? Huh? Gotta a big, uh, big stack of papers there? Gotta, gotta nice litte story you're working on there? Your big novel you've been working on for 3 years? Huh? Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Gotta story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah? No, no, you deserve some time off.

Family Normal Lite
We are pleased to announce the creation of the Family Normal Lite. We are prepared to offer you just as many calories but in smaller portion sizes and in fewer meals. We will offer you, the Family Normal Nation, a lighter, richer albeit less frequent selection of the finest the Normal Family has to offer. We here at the Family Normal want to thank you for your loyal support over the past year and a half. As always we will still be here but just less... And please remember to tip your waitress as you file out.Tuesday, July 31, 2007
