Even at a young age, Norwegian blooded North Dakota children are taught about the 2 finger rule for personal arm contact. A full grip around the arm would just be wrong, even for cousins. People would start to talk. Don't even get me started on hugging. Most aukward personal contact moments can be eliminated by a firm hearty handshake. At least that's what I was taught.

I'll make sure to hug you the next time I see you.
